For those of you who feel clueless when it comes to this "internet" stuff...

How do I become a member of genrev.net?
Click the "Join Now" icon (it appears on the left sidebar of every single page if you're not logged in as a member). Fill out the registration form and click on "Submit." Agree to the GenRev Declaration by clicking "I Agree." A confirmation e-mail will then be sent to your e-mail inbox. Open up that e-mail and click on the link that will take you back to genrev.net. Once you have done this, your membership is official.

How do I log in?
If you are not already logged in, there is a red box with two spaces at the top of every page. Type your username in the space that says "username." Type your password in the space that says "password." Press enter.

How do I post a message on the message boards?
Click on the "Shout Out" icon or on any link that says it will take you to the message boards. Once you are at the boards main page, click on the title of a forum that you want to post in (we recommend the "GenRev Newbies" forum if you are new). Click on the icon that says "New Topic" and you will be start a new topic.

What is an avatar and how do I get one? An avatar is a little picture that appears on your posts on the message boards. An avatar helps other people identify you through an image.
You can actually choose a picture of your choice to have as an avatar. You can edit avatar settings by clicking on "Edit Avatar Settings" on the lower left-hand side of your message board control panel (access your control panel from the boards by clicking on "My Controls" on the upper left-hand side of any message board page). In the space that says "Your avatar" type in the URL (internet address) where your picture will come from (if your desired picture is on another website) OR upload a picture from your computer by typing the file name of your picture in the appropriate box). Once you've done this, click on the "Add this avatar to my profile" button, and you've got yourself an avatar!
